Small Engine with 3 Cylinders from Volvo to Compete BMW and Ford

RealAutoTips. - Volvo as the car producer from Sweden has been developing small engine with 3 cylinders that capable of producing up to 180 hp. This engine also claimed fuel economy, even more efficient than small engine ever made by the manufacturer.

As reported from DetikOto as quite RealAutoTips on Friday, 12/12/2014, that The three-cylinder engine will be equipped with a turbocharger and combined with Volvo's new platform, namely architecture CMA. It is intended to meet the new provisions of vehicle exhaust, Euro 7.

Volvo's three-cylinder engine is one of the results of the four-cylinder engine developing Drive-E. The engine will be used in a variant of the Series 60 models, namely Volvo V60, C60 Cross Country, Volvo S60, and the Volvo XC60.

If it is launched, the engine will be competing with the latest three-cylinder engine made by BMW. The machine has been used in the BMW Active Tourer Seri2 and MINI brand-new model. In addition, this engine will also compete with smaller engine made by Ford, the Ford EcoBoost.
